Not the Department Store in Moscow

Y'know what truly skeeves me out about NYC? Gum on the sidewalk. For years, I was oblivious to the gum. And then, one day, I wasn't. It's everywhere. Those black blogs. Like the onset of a thunderstorm after a drought, those big silver dollars where the rain hits the parched earth. No. It's gum. It's everywhere. It was in people's mouths. And now it's on the sidewalk. It's pretty much everywhere. Inexcapable. At least, I don't think I've ever been anywhere in New York City where I didn't find gum on the sidewalk.

Doylestown, Pennsylvania? No gum.
New Hope, Pennsylvania? No gum.
Point Pleasant, Pennsylvania? Ummm... no sidewalks.
